If it's in the T & Cs they can enforce it...short notice or otherwise. Is it worth seeing if Fleur can talk to the venue to see what can be done :?:

So let me understand, if I use a card is this £100 going to be taken out of my account and refunded a week or two later? What money am I going to spend at the festival?

No, its just a pre-authorisation should your chalet be damaged.

Sort of like when you open a tab at a bar they take a swipe of your card to stop you running off without paying

The only thing to be aware of is pre-authorisations count against your credit limit - so whilst the money is not actually taken from the card, neither is it available for your use until it is cancelled.

so you have to have the money available - at least £100 on the card, and if its all you've got you can't use it until it is 'refunded'.

If that was posted as a question, then the answer is "yes".
